/ / / gorgeous vintage Turkish rug with playful all-over repeating roses motif- she’s a special beauty! We are calling this a mood rug and you will see it displayed in photos with the reverse side up as well as right side up. The backside of this rug has soft colors that are so beautiful, the fact that the rug has a low pile that will not be damaged by using the rug upside down gives it the option of it being reversible. I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.
/ / / condition: good vintage condition. It does taper on one end from 4’5” to 4’4”. This rug has been professionally restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles. I want you to love your rug! Please look at the photos carefully and ask any and all questions before purchasing, as all sales are final. This rug has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.
/ / / pile: low/zero
/ / / weight: medium (rug pad recommended)
/ / / colors: shades of tobacco brown, pale umber, deep tan, turquoise, grape, lavender, hot pink, slate blue, lead grey, bone, pale apricot
/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light coming from a wall of large, east-facing windows on a cloudy Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.
