/ / / gorgeous hand knotted vintage Persian scrap runner rug that has been salvaged from a larger rug that was beyond repair. We love the quirky nature of these scrap rugs, the story they tell and the added sustainable nature of creating one or more rugs from a larger rug that would have otherwise not been able to be saved- she’s a special beauty! I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.

/ / / condition: good vintage condition. This rug is slightly non-rectangular and has a taper on one end from 3’6” to 3’4”. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.

/ / / pile: low

/ / / weight: medium (rug pad recommended)

/ / / colors: terra cotta, indigo, aqua, turquoise, pistachio, chartreuse, sage, tulip, sky, denim, chocolate, copper and bone

/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light coming from a wall of large, east-facing windows on a partially sunny Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.

>> this item will ship to you within 3-5 business days via FedEx Ground or USPS Priority Mail, and includes insurance. I am happy to ship this rug internationally-please contact me for a custom shipping quote. <<
