/ / / gorgeous vintage Persian Heriz area rug with shades of rose and indigo. We think the restoration of this rug has a kintsugi -like quality to it, bringing attention to the intentional and well-done repair work. A perfect vintage area rug for a library, den or living room- she’s a special beauty! I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.
/ / / condition: very good vintage condition. This rug does have multiple areas of repair as shown, we love the uniqueness and the subtle personality these repairs give the rug. It also has a slight organic shape and tapers from 8’5” to 8’4” on one end. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.
/ / / pile: low/medium
/ / / pile height: 3/8”
/ / / weight: heavy (rug pad recommended)
/ / / colors: indigo blue, shades of rose, terra cotta, pale oxblood, mocha, denim, military blue, pale tulip, pale peach, sand, bone white, slate blue, smoke brown, wheat, pale daffodil
/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light on a sunny Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.
