/ / / gorgeous vintage Persian Bakhtiari rug with the most happy and playful figural animal and bird landscape in the field. This is a “non-precious” rug, which means that it has a thick cotton foundation that can stand a lot of wear, and that it already has plenty of wear and personality already, so it’s not a rug that you have to worry about keeping in pristine condition- because it is already not that rug :) She’s a special beauty and I’ve never found a rug with as many happy animals as this ! I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.

/ / / condition: good vintage condition with low to zero pile in some places. This rug is not perfectly rectangular, and tapers from 6’8” on one end, to 6’4” on the other. This rug also has many areas of uneven pile- some longer strands of wool throughout- you can best see this in pic #14. This rug has been professionally restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles. I want you to love your rug! Please look at the photos carefully and ask any and all questions before purchasing, as all sales are final. This rug has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

/ / / pile: low/zero in some places

/ / / weight: heavy/thick (rug pad helpful but not required)

/ / / colors:

/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light coming from a wall of large, east-facing windows on a cloudy Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.
