/ / / gorgeous hand knotted antique Persian Sarouk runner rug that has been salvaged from a larger rug that was beyond repair. We love the quirky nature of these fragment or scrap rugs, the story they tell and the added sustainable nature of creating one or more rugs from a larger rug that would have otherwise not been able to be saved - she’s a special beauty! I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.

/ / / condition: very good antique condition, this is a fragment of a larger rug. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.

/ / / pile: low/zero

/ / / weight: medium (rug pad recommended)

/ / / colors: indigo, persimmon, wheat, military blue, peach, celadon green, sage, umber, brick, coral, caramel

/ / / The lighting conditions where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light on a sunny Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.

>> this item will ship to you within 3-5 business days via FedEx Ground or USPS Priority Mail, and includes insurance. I am happy to ship this rug internationally-please contact me for a custom shipping quote. <<
